要点
- will 表示意愿或将来，would 是 will 的过去式。
- would 用来使语气更委婉：Would you like …?
- I would like … 是「我想要……」，比 I want 客气得多。
- would 也可以表示过去的习惯。
- won't 还能说"（东西）就是不行"：The car won't start this morning.（今早这车怎么也打不着火）—— 中文不会说车有不愿意，英文把这一层归 will。
- would 表过去的习惯，但不能表过去的状态：When we were children, we would play in the river.（常说常做才对）；而"过去住在这儿"只能说 used to live here，说 would live here 就不通。
- 条件句里 if 从句一般不用 will，但表"愿意"的 will 可以留在里面：If you will wait a moment, I'll ask.（若您愿意稍等）—— 别把这一句一概判成错。

易错提示
- Would you like …? 的肯定回答是 Yes, I'd love to.
- would like 后面接名词或 to do，不能直接接动词原形。
- would 也能带"果然如此"的语气说现在：He would forget his keys!（他偏偏就忘钥匙）—— 这一句不是过去时，是抱怨。
- 表"想必是"的 That will be the postman. 属推测那一层，与意愿无关 —— 强弱的整条线见「情态动词表推测」。
