方位介词
上下前后里外之间，between 与 among 各有分工。
on / under / behind / in front of / between / next to
要点
- on 在……上面（有接触）；under 在……下面。
- behind 在……后面；in front of 在……前面。
- between 用于两者之间；among 用于三者及以上之间。
- next to 紧挨着；near 在……附近。
- 同一个地点换个尺度就换介词：in the room（当里面）、on the second floor / on the bus（当一层或一个面）、at the door / at the bus stop（当"一个点"）。
- above / over 与 below / under 各有一层"越过"：over 常含从上方越过或盖住（a bridge over the river ／ flew over the mountain），above 只说位置高（the shelf above the stove）；under 说正下方，below 说低于某条线（ten degrees below zero）。
- besides 是"除了…还"（含进来），except 是"除了…都不"（挑出去）：Besides Wang, three more teachers came. ／ All came except Wang. —— 两个词形近，方向正好相反。
例句
The ruler is on the desk.
尺子在书桌上。

易错提示
- between 只用于两者，三个以上要用 among。
- in front of（在外部的前面）≠ in the front of（在内部的前部）。
- 「两者用 between」这句口诀有个边界：三个以上要说是"两两之间"时仍用 between（the difference between the three cities），把三者以上当成一堆来讲才换 among（among the students）。
- into / onto 带"进去、上去"这一步，in / on 只说结果位置：He walked into the room（进去了）／ He was in the room（在里面）—— 中文一个"到"字，英语要拆成方向与位置两说。
