Your letter of January said the old price holds for anything we ordered before the end of January. We ordered on the ninth.

That letter is on our paper, so I cannot say it is wrong. But I must check whether the manager made an exception.

If the exception is not there, we will pay the old price and you can write to us.

I would rather not do that. If we pay a bill that nobody agreed to, it comes back as a problem in a year.
